Surgeon Testimonials for the Archer™ CSR Total Shoulder System

Below are several case studies and testimonials from actual surgeons performing total shoulder arthroplasties using the Archer™ CSR Total Shoulder System.

HCP Testimonials
The utilization of the anatomic Archer CSR humeral implant allowed for adequate bone stock retention to complete an anatomic transosseous supraspinatus repair and remove all of the patient’s painful pathology in one procedure. The patient weaned off pain medication by his two-week follow up. Six months post-op, the patient was still noting improvement and was so happy with the results. He has since undergone a rotator cuff repair on his contralateral shoulder. The patient has returned to the gym and is actively lifting weights again.

William Brian Acker II, MD - Orthopedic Sports Medicine & Shoulder Surgeon Team Physician for the Detroit Lions

HCP Testimonials
With the patient’s humeral deformity, a stemmed humeral prosthesis would have been impossible,” said Dr. Wiater.
Additionally, with the location of the deformity, a regular neck cut that is used with any other system would not have worked. We were fortunate to have Catayst's Archer CSR system for this patient.

Brett P. Wiater, MD, William Beaumont School of Medicine, Rochester, MI

For this procedure I used Catalyst's Archer CSR system for a total shoulder arthroplasty using a lesser tuberosity osteotomy repair with a screw-and-suture technique.

Post operatively this patient did very well. He had return of full range of motion at 12 weeks. He was able to return to all his activities, including sporting activities as well as lifting, pushing and pulling.

The surgery using the Augmented 3-Peg Glenoid was easy to perform. This is a great benefit of Catalyst's Archer CSR system – there are no changes to the procedure or the instrumentation from a standard to an augmented glenoid.

Catalyst's Archer CSR system’s angled instrumentation allowed me to address the Walch B2 glenoid through a small incision and limited releases. I believe this tissue sparing approach contributes to favorable patient outcomes.

I specifically chose the Catalyst implant [for this case] because it's stemless, it had the advantage of preserving as much humeral bone as possible, and it was a more anatomic reconstruction for this young, 19-year-old female who had high expectations and high activity demands.

HCP Testimonials

We're seeing incredible outcomes in patients with [Catalyst's Archer CSR Total Shoulder System]. Because we're exactly replicating their anatomy we think their motion is better. We're excited about the early results in the patients we're treating. They're back to their normal activities.

Theodore A. Blaine, MD

I’ve used the Catalyst system for the last year with tremendous results in patients with end-stage shoulder arthritis. The system allows anatomic reconstruction of the glenohumeral joint with a minimally invasive approach, and simple, easy to use instrumentation. My patients are recovering quicker, with less pain, and have very good short-term results compared to patients that have a more standard, stemmed design.

Timothy G. Reish, MD

I have been using the Catalyst shoulder prosthesis for all my anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty cases since 2017. I have used most of the other systems currently available and have found that the Catalyst is simply the most anatomic system on the market. The fit is a precise anatomic reconstruction in every single case. The surgical technique and instrumentation are pared down and streamlined, and the cases go much quicker. The system is easy to learn - the X-rays from my first Catalyst case looked perfect! I have been doing less soft tissue releases with the Catalyst, which means less postoperative pain and a faster recovery for my patients.
